Mead? What’s that? Well, it’s really quite simple! Mead is an alcoholic beverage made when you ferment honey mixed with water using yeast. People like to refer to it as “honey wine” because it is prepared similarly to how wine is. Instead of fermenting grapes, you use honey! The thing I love most about mead is the wildly different tastes that you can concoct by adding fruits and spices. I highly encourage giving mead a try!
I grew up watching my brothers play video games on the N64 and Nintendo Gamecube. Since then I have always had a fascination with every genre of video games. So much so, that I used to want to be a video game journalist. Some of my cherished memories are from playing video games with my friends. I hope to someday find my way into the video games industry as a UX/UI designer.
Formula 1 is considered as the pinnacle of motorsport. Around late 2018 Netflix came out with a series about it called “Drive to Survive”. I was hooked after the first episode. I am always trying to get people into the sport. With such a rich history, I constantly find new and interesting things about the sport. Since the Netflix series started, Formula 1 has gained a huge fan base in the United States. This means there are now three races in America. Hopefully I’ll be able to catch my first race soon!
I have always been down to go out on an adventure! But I would always end up having to spend a fortune on a place to stay. Now don’t me wrong, you can absolutely find a cheap place to stay if you look hard enough or bring a tent with you. But a lot of the time I don’t have the luxury of booking in advance. And there is no way I am camping in a tent during the colder months. So when the opportunity arose to buy a cheap camper that I can tow with my car, I took it!
During our time at Tech Elevator, a few of us decided to start a trivia team. We have been playing ever since! I originally joined the team to answer car-related questions. I have since retired from that position as I underestimated the plethora of knowledge required to be considered “the car guy”. My current role on the team is a hotly debated topic to this day. If you asked me, what I offer to the team is so extremely integral that it cannot be quantified.
When I tell people this, most of them think that sea shanties are the only thing I listen to. That is definitely not true. I love all kinds of music and I am always open to new music recommendations! But if you asked me why I enjoy sea shanties over other genres, I would say that it’s because most shanties were written with such a strong rhythmic element that they are almost begging to be sung along to. If you are interested in listening to some shanties, I would recommend The Longest Johns!
